There is a strong obsession with water in my work. Water combined with the alienation of familiar images, of a familiar world. My film ‘A Dream of Green’ emerged from research into water plants and the relationship between humans and their environment. It was never meant to be a film but more just an exploration of the beauty of a figure existing in a frame. From there, a narrative gradually took shape which ended up taking about seven months. It’s a film about death. What happens when we die, how does that feel, how does that sound, what does that look like.
I like to describe the film as “a tale of a boy who meets another boy in his dreams”
